EDITED IN 2014

The result of a conversation slash argue i had a couple of days ago with :iconnecrida7:
Turned out I was wrong ( for a change ^^' ), but since the topic was the lack of support, I guess it feels pretty good to be wrong n__n

Now, if you think about it, villains in general really should get more credit than the heroes for coming up with such inventive plans and death traps. I mean, if we start encouraging physical prowess over brilliance and creativity, the world as we know it would soon turn into one enormous gym !
… not to mention the heroe's outfit often look much gayer, but that's just a detail.

That's probably why villains need sidekicks : who else is gonna tell them they did a good job after they got busted ?

Edit: That was back in 2009, but that comic is still pretty special to me, so I decided to refresh it a little for Valentine's day 2014.
You can find the original strip by clicking right here : i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll…

Take it from me, people: You don't need the applause of a crowd to feel appreciated.
You just need the smile of that one person
Happy Valentine's Day!

A critical clue to the Joker’s motivations was revealed while the Atom was rummaging around between his twisted dendrites: his parents were NORMAL, and he hated them as far back as he could remember because he found their normalcy BORING. They were a loving couple who simply couldn’t begin to comprehend their son’s unique flavor of sociopathy. He particularly hated being reminded how his mother loved him by another school boy, because he found her repetitive patterns of caring, which all normal children need, SO DULL. If they had done excitingly irresponsible things with him, like dangling him over a balcony or something, he’d have appreciated them a titch more, but as they were, when he was 15, he trapped them in their burning house and never looked back as he made his way from the New Jersey countryside to Gotham. He so totally forgot his given name and their faces that Atom was unable to dig them out from these recollections so that he might finally be officially identified.

My point is, I think his perception of his parents, apart from the sociopathic tendency to be unable to comprehend genuine love in the first place, is that he’s afraid of being bored by love again. There’s one thing Joker will NOT tolerate in his presence or put up with is somebody who BORES him. They aren’t even worth remembering. Since his experience from his mother’s love was deadly dull to him, he hates Harley whenever she acts in any way that reminds him of that. Moreover, i think he hates himself whenever some, distant corner of his black heart feels a twinge of genuine caring for her beyond being a fun toy. She eventually could not take that anymore.
